I flew June 2022 with Turkish airline from Düsseldorf to Istanbul and then from Istanbul to Malé. Thereby my luggage was lost.
Ironically, next to me on the plane to Istanbul sat a nice young Turk who tried to charge his cell phone on the plane by cable, which did not work. I told him “No wonder! It is just Turkish Airline”. He smiled and said: “Turkish Airline had already lost my luggage once…”.
In Male airport I found out that Turkish Airline actually applied its masterpiece to me: They lost my luggage on the outbound flight. In Male airport I had to inform the native Staff with an incredible amount of effort what the problem was – that my luggage was lost.
I could not enjoy my transfer with the water aircraft and my arrival in the island as I had hoped because my thought was stuck to my lost luggage.
My luggage was not brought to the resort until 30 hours after my arrival.
They demolished the lock of my luggage and snooped around in my private things.
I was there arriving to my destination, sweaty in a t-shirt and long denim pants, and I had absolutely nothing else to wear, all my belongings, including toothbrush and bathing suits were in my luggage.
Fortunately, there in Coco Palm Resort was Maria, one of the resort personnel – one of the nicest persons I have ever met – she brought me clothes to wear and the other necessary things.
I suffered a huge mental stress over all of it.
I will never fly again in my life with a turkish airline!
