Reading déjà vu

Have you ever had a reading déjà vu? No?

It is simple:

every time you start a new book before you start the first page, read a random paragraph from a random page of the book. Of course you won’t understand the context now, don’t worry about it, just read the randomly chosen paragraph. You don’t need to remember what you’re reading. Just let your memory run free!

Then close the book and start reading it from the beginning. Please note that you shouldn’t think about the paragraph anymore, just forget it…

And when you reach the paragraph you read, you will have the feeling like saying to yourself: “Heyyy, I’ve read that somewhere before, so it was…”.

This feeling of déjà-vu during reading can be perceived differently, it depends on the memory capacity of the reader and the theme of the book. It works best with novels.

And the less one thinks of the paragraph read, the greater the déjà-vu experience. It can be practiced. Often I even forget that I have read a paragraph before 🙂
